As basic as it gets. But don’t let the simplicity fool you. It’s seriously delicious!

Ingredients
- 1 can tomatoes, chopped or whole
- 1 yellow onion or shallot, peeled
- 1 tablespoon butter
Method
Place tomato sauce, whole onion, and a tablespoon of butter into a pot.
Over medium heat, bring to simmer.
Simmer for at least 1 hour.
Season to taste after cooking.
Make it a meal
Place on cooked pasta.
Sprinkle with parmesan or fresh basil leaves.
Add a splash of good olive oil.
Notes
- Great for freezing
- Keeps in the fridge for 3-4 days
